This Saturday, July 17th, starting at 7:30 and ending around 9:00, we will taste through some fantastic beers and some amazing wines. We will have Diamondback Distributing here introducing a couple beers from Wasatch brewing, Squatters brewing, as well as Costa De Oro wines.
Established in 1986 Wasatch Brewery is the first brewery in Park City, Utah, since prohibition, they has established its self as a primer brewery on a national level. We are tasting :
Polygamy Porter – This dark, medium bodied ale offers the drink-ability of a much lighter beer. The inviting chocolate and malty flavors fade into a slightly dry, silky smooth finish. Why have just one? 4.0% alcohol by volume. • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association • 2008 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, World Beer Cup • 2006 Silver Medal Winner, Brown Porter, North American Brewers’ Association
Devastator Dopple Bock – This is a strong, amber lager (8% abv). It has a fluffy white head with a bready malt aroma and a rich body that leaves you with a warming feeling. This Double Bock style dates back over a century when Monastic brewers knew it as “liquid bread.” Beware . . . it’s deceivingly smooth and delicious.
As Squatters grew we embraced the Triple Bottom Line philosophy of People Planet Profit. We source healthy ingredients and use environmentally friendly products and services from within our local eco-region. We will taste:
Hop Rising – Big hop, big malt, big beer. One of the most aggressive beers ever released in Utah, Hop Rising a double India Pale Ale, clocks in at 85 IBU’s and 9% alcohol. We use three different malts to create enough flavor to perfectly balance three varieties of hops, then, because we can’t help ourselves, we dry-hop it; resulting in an amazing two pounds of hops per barrel! The combination of robust malty flavors and huge hop bitterness provide a well-balanced beer; a hop lover’s dream
